Merry Christmas

What this Christmas means to me
Can’t be found in a box or tree.
What I’ve found through life is this:
You can’t rely on a gift for bliss.
This holiday’s true meaning
Is what we’ve all been dreaming.
You can’t expect a child to know
The Christmas love that we should show.
To read between the lines of a page
Is something that only comes with age.
Behind a gift
That could make meaning drift,
Is something much more
Something one can’t ignore.
It’s a message of love
Not only from above.
It says “I’m always there,”” it says “I’ll always care.””
So what does this Christmas mean to me
That can’t be found in a box or tree?
It means spending time with you,
And those like you are few.
It means sharing a time, the clocks every chime.
It means showing a love, blessed from above.
